RSS The Consular Section of the Lithuanian Embassy is suspending all non-emergency consular appointments!
Due to the epidemiological threat of the Covid-19 virus, with the aim of limiting the risk of virus spread and taking into account the countermeasures imposed by the Israeli authorities, the Consular Section of the Lithuanian Embassy in Israel will stop admitting applicants starting from 17 March 2020 until further notice.
The above applies both to the admittance of new applications and to the collection of documents in cases already submitted. The Consular Section will continue to assist Lithuanian citizens only in emergency cases.

Due to the global spread of Covid-19, the Government of Lithuania introduced a Quarantine starting at 00:00, March 16, Monday, to slow down the virus. This will also affect foreign nationals.

In the light of the ongoing coronavirus outbreak, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania has updated its Italy travel advice. The Ministry temporarily advises against all travel to the following regions of northern Italy: Lombardy, Veneto, Piedmont, and Emilia-Romagna.
Currently, the Foreign Ministry also temporarily advises against all travel to China, South Korea, Adeje town and municipality on the southern side of the island of Tenerife (Spain).
Taking preventive measures is recommended to people who travel to the European Union and the Schengen Area, and the United Kingdom, as well as to Belarus, North Macedonia, Singapore, and Hong Kong. We recommend that you take the necessary precautions to avoid infection, closely follow the instructions and advice of your local government.

NATO Foreign Ministers discuss Alliance’s response to coronavirus pandemic
On 2 April, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius took part in a meeting of NATO Foreign Ministers by secure videoconference for the first time in the Alliance’s history. The meeting discussed the Alliance’s response to the coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic, situation in Iraq and Afghanistan, NATO’s role in the Middle East and North Africa region. NATO Ministers also exchanged their views on Russia, arms control, and relations with partners.

On 23 March, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius participated in a video conference of the EU Foreign Affairs Ministers, who exchanged views on the international response to the novel coronavirus (SARS-CoV-2) with a particular focus on the repatriation of EU travelers stranded abroad. Foreign Ministers also discussed how to step up international cooperation in order to fight the COVID-19 pandemic.

On 10 March, on the eve of the 30th anniversary of the Restoration of the Independence of Lithuania, Vilnius held the Bucharest Nine (B9) meeting of the foreign ministers of Bulgaria, the Czech Republic, Estonia, Latvia, Poland, Lithuania, Romania, Slovakia, and Hungary. Delegates from the United States of America and NATO attended the meeting as guests. Gitanas Nausėda, President of the Republic of Lithuania, greeted the participants in the Palace of the Grand Dukes of Lithuania.
