25th Anniversary of Re-establishment of the Independence of the Republic of Lithuania celebrated in Israel
On March 12, 2015 a festive event on the occasion of 25th Anniversary of Re-establishment of the Independence of the Republic of Lithuania, was organized by the Lithuanian Embassy in Tel Aviv together with the Lithuanian community in Israel and the members of the Lithuanian-Israeli friendship association “ISRAELITA” as well as the Municipality of Netanya.
The guests were welcomed by Ambassador Edminas Bagdonas, Deputy Mayor of Netanya dr. Avital Laufer, and the Chairman of the Lithuanian-Israeli friendship association “ISRAELITA” Yakov Katz. The speakers praised excellent Lithuanian-Israeli bilateral relations and achievements.
The national anthems of the Republic of Lithuania and the State of Israel were sung by the community member Helena Strazdauskaitė Gaon. During the event, a famous Lithuanian rock band “Raganiai”, established 1969 in Kaunas, performed.
