A MONUMENT UNVEILED FOR LITHUANIAN JEWS DEPORTED TO SIBERIA
On June 11 a monument to honour the memory of Lithuanian Jews deportees was unveiled in the Open Area Lithuanian Folk Museum in Rumšiškės. It is a copy of the monument, located in Bykov – Mys (Yakutia), where Lithuanian Jewish citizens, deported to Siberia during Stalin’s regime, were buried. President of the Republic of Lithuania Dalia Grybauskaitė, members of Lithuanian and European Parliaments as well as Ambassadors of foreign countries attended the event.
