A working visit of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation to the State of Israel

The delegation of the Ministry of Economy and Innovation of the Republic of Lithuania headed by the Minister Aušrinė Armonaitė visited the State of Israel on 27-29 March.

At the begining of the visit the delegation visited Yad Vashem memorial complex in Jerusalem and honoured the memory of victims of Holocaust by laying the wreath.

The delegation met the Minister of Economy and Industry of Israel Orna Barbivai on 28 March. Topics ranging from cooperation in high tech, innovations and women empowerment to the war in Ukraine were discussed. Ministers agreed that  economic and trade cooperation between two has a very solid ground, many new projects between two countries are already in the pipeline, but potential for the expansion of ties between two countries is still huge.

A warm and cozy meeting of Lithuanians and Litvaks was organized on 28 March at the Embassy of Lithuania to Israel. During the meeting projects of innovation, investment and attracting talents to Lithuania, assistance to the people of Ukraine, legalization of dual citizenship and other issues of concern to the community were discussed.

Bilateral tourism promotion action plan was signed between Lithuania and Israel during the meeting of delegation with the Minister of Tourism of Israel Y. Razvozov on 29 March. Ministers also agreed that more direct flights  between our two countries are necessary in order to boost tourism flows. Concrete steps and instruments towards this goal were discussed.

The delegation also took part in IMTM international tourism exhibition-conference on 29 March.

A huge part of the visit was dedicated to the potential investors and to the presentation of Lithuania to the Israeli business community.
