AMBASSADOR DARIUS DEGUTIS PARTICIPATED IN THE LITVAK EVENT

On 8 October 2009 the event dedicated to emigrants from Lithuania took place in Givatayim Theater (Israel).

The participants of the event among whom were Lithuanian Honorary Consul in Israel Amos Eiran, a close companion of the former Israeli Prime Minister Y. Rabin, and the director of radio station “Reka“ Dorit Shlomit Lidor shared the memories from their lives in Lithuania.

Ambassador of Lithuania in Israel Darius Degutis welcomed the overcrowded hall of the Givatayim theatre and stressed that Jewish culture had been flourishing in Lithuania for centuries and had contributed much to strengthening of Lithuanian statehood.

Ambassador encouraged Litvaks to keep close ties with Lithuania and take active part in promoting cooperation between Israel and Lithuania.
