Ambassador of Lithuania took part at Holocaust Remembrance Day events to pay tribute to the victims of the Holocaust
On April 11 ambassador Edminas Bagdonas participated at the official Holocaust Remembrance Day ceremony in Yad Vashem. President of State of Israel H.E. Reuven Rivlin and Prime Minister H.E. Benyamin Netanyahu delivered speeches at that event.
On April 12 ambassador Edminas Bagdonas participated at Holocaust Remembrance Day event organized by Association of Jews from Vilna and its Surroundings "Beit Vilna“ at Kyriat Shaul cemetery next to the monument for Paneriai victims. During the ceremony names of Vilnius ghetto victims have been read. On behalf of the Lithuanian Embassy in Israel ambassador Edminas Bagdonas paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust by placing a wreath next to the monument. The ceremony was attended by Holocaust survivors and their families, representatives leaders and members of Association of Vilna and Vilna vicinity Jews in Israel Beit, representatives of IDF and the Lithuanian Embassy in Israel.
On the same day, ambassador of Lithuania took part at the memorial service of Holocaust Remembrance Day at the Nahalat Yitzhak cemetery in Tel Aviv next to the monument to Lithuanian Jews who perished in the Holocaust. On behalf of the Lithuanian Embassy in Israel ambassador Edminas Bagdonas paid tribute to the victims of the Holocaust by placing a wreath next to the monument. The memorial ceremony has been organized by Association of Lithuanian Jews in Israel. The ceremony was attended by Holocaust survivors and their families, leaders and members of Association of Jews of Lithuania, students from Remez school of Bnei Brak, and representatives of Lithuanian Embassy in Israel.
