B’NAI B’RITH APPRECIATES LITHUANIA’S ACTIONS
On 11 December 2013 Lithuanian Ambassador in Israel Darius Degutis received B'nai B'rith International President Allan J. Jacobs and its Vice President Daniel S. Mariaschin. During the meeting, the guests told that Lithuania’s actions in preserving historical and cultural heritage of the Lithuanian Jewish community as well as adoption of the law on Good Will Compensation for the immovable Property of Jewish Religious Communities are highly appreciated. According to D. S. Mariaschin there are many possibilities to implement a variety of cultural projects designated to preserve the heritage of the Lithuanian Jewish community and B'nai B'rith International is willing to contribute.
D. Degutis expressed his appreciation that bilateral relations between Lithuania and Israel are very good, trade, tourism is growing and cultural ties are expanding. Lithuania and Israel maintain very close relations in the international organizations.
D. S. Mariaschin congratulated Lithuania on its successful Presidency of the Council of the European Union and thanked for Israel’s support. D. S. Mariaschin extended greetings to Lithuania for becoming a non-permanent member of the United Nations Security Council.
