COOPERATION WITH BEIT VILNA ASSOCIATION DISCUSSED IN TEL AVIV
On 18 June 2014 Tel Aviv, Lithuanian Ambassador to Israel Darius Degutis met with the representatives of the association of Jews from Vilnius and Vicinity in Israel “Beit Vilna”. During the meeting the bilateral cooperation between Lithuania and Israel over the past five years was reviewed and the perspectives for the development of the bilateral relations were discussed.
The leaders of the Association “Beit Vilna” highly praised the actions of the Government of the Republic of Lithuania in restoring and maintaining the unique cultural and historical heritage of the Lithuanian Jewish community and thanked for the support in organizing March of the Living of the Holocaust survivors and their relatives in Lithuania.
Ambassador D. Degutis ending his term in Israel said that during the recent years relations between Israel and Lithuania entered a new level based on mutual trust and understanding. D. Degutis thanked the representatives of the Association “Beit Vilna” for their contribution to the development of bilateral cooperation and the strengthening of informal contacts between the two countries.
