Exhibition in Beit Vilna

On February 18 in Beit Vilna (House of Vilnius, in hebrew) the opening of exhibition of the German speaking authors books, that have been published in the Vilnius took place. Works of German authors translated to Yiddish in the beginning of twentieth century have been presented.

Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania Mr Edminas Bagdonas, director of the Moses Mendelssohn Centre for European-Jewish Studies Julius H.Schoeps, Deputy Chairman of the Association of Jews from Vilna and Vicinity in Israel M. Kantor and representatives of the Embassy of the Federal Republic of Germany participated at the opening ceremony. Ambassador of Lithuania highlighted the expanding cultural cooperation between Israel and Lithuania.

This exhibition is the result of common efforts of the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Lithuania, Lithuanian Council of Culture in Vilnius, Moses Mendelssohn Centre for European-Jewish Studies, Embassies of Lithuania in Germany and Israel.
