Freedom Defenders‘ Day of Lithuania commemorated in Tel Aviv

On January 13th, 2017 Embassy of Lithuania together with the Lithuanian community in Israel „Nerija“ commemorated Freedom Defenders‘ Day of Lithuania.
In his speech ambassador of Lithuania in Israel Mr Edminas Bagdonas has stressed the importance of Freedom Defenders‘ Day for the Lithuanian state. During the commemoration event Leonas Vytautas Glinskis film “ Guarding Freedom” devoted to the tragic events of January 13 in Vilnius was screened. The Embassy marked the 26th anniversary of Freedom Defenders Day by lighting candles in its windows. At the event everybody was wearing forget-me-not blue flower pins in memory of the victims of the Soviet totalitarian regime.
