IN 2011 UNESCO WILL COMMEMORATE M.K.ČIURLIONIS AND Č.MILOŠAS

In 2011 UNESCO will commemorate 100th death anniversary of Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis and 100th birth anniversary of Česlovas Milošas.

Mikalojus Konstantinas Čiurlionis (1875-1911) – a personality who was richly endowed with the talents of a composer, painter, writer and photographer, was, and still is, a prominent figure not only in Lithuanian art, but also in the art of Europe.

Česlovas Milošas (1911-2004) -  one of the greatest and most famous poets in the world, Nobel Prize winner, was born in Lithuania. Being a Polish poet he throughout his life maintained strong emotional and cultural connections with his native country.
