INTERNATIONAL THEATRE FESTIVAL IN ISRAEL STARTED WITH AN IMPRESSIVE PLAY BY LITHUANIAN NATIONAL PRIZE WINNER RIMAS TUMINAS

On 28-29 June 2014 the play "Eugene Onegin" directed by the Lithuanian National Prize winner R. Tuminas launched the 9th International Theatre Festival "Golden Mask” in a well-known "Gesher" theater in Tel Aviv-Yaffo.

 

In 2013 R. Tuminas was recognized as Russia's best director, he was the main author of the idea, literary composition and the direction of play “Eugene Onegin” which was created last year according to the novel in verse written by A. Pushkin. R. Tuminas who created over fifty plays in different European countries.

The numerous audience extremely enthusiastically applauded the director and his team as well as his fellow play producers, talented Lithuanians - scenographer Adomas Jacovskis, choreographer Andželika Cholina, omposer Faustas Latėnas.

On June 17 during the interview to one of the Israeli TV channels R. Tuminas talked about his work, expressed his observations regarding the identity of the Lithuanian theater directing. His past and future projects were presented to a large number of culture media representatives who came to the press conference before the opening performance of the festival.
