INVITATION TO A CREATIVE PROGRAM OF ISRAELI ACTRESS HADAS KALDERON-SUTZKEVER IN HONOUR OF 100TH BIRTH ANNIVERSARY OF ABRAHAM SUTZKEVER
The Tolerance Center of the Vilna Gaon State Jewish Museum, The Embassy of Israel to Latvia and Lithuania and the Ministry of Foreigh Affairs of the Republic of Lithuania present Israeli actress Hadas Kalderon-Sutzkever, arriving with the creative program „A Journey Through History, Poetry and Art: 100th year birth anniversary of Yiddish writer Abraham Sutzkever“ The perfomance will take place on the 14th of November, 2013, at 5.30 p.m., at the Tolerance Center (Naugarduko Str.10/2, Vilnius).
Israeli actress Hadas Kalderon-Sutzkever, granddaughter of the writer, presents the special creative program, dedicated for the 100th birth anniversary of Abraham Sutzkever (1913 – 2010), one the greatest XX c. Yiddish poets, writers and partizans. Hadas Kalderon tells about the unique life of the writer, through her personal emotional attitude, uniting history, poetry, theatre and rare historical films. It‘s a story of courageous survival and the victory of the soul. Singer from Israel Abigail Ross as well as the ensemble of Vilnius Užupis High School students will also perform in the event, which is organized in cooperation with the International Commission for the Evaluation of the Crimes of the Nazi and Soviet Occupation Regimes in Lithuania. Performance is dedicated to the commemoration of the 70 years of the Vilnius Ghetto liquidation and the International Day for Tolerance.
