ISRAEL VOLUNTARY EMERGENCY MEDICAL SERVICE WOULD LIKE TO SHARE ITS EXPERIENCE WITH LITHUANIA
The founder of a unique and worldwide recognized volunteer Emergency Medical Services organization “United Hatzalah of Israel” Eli Beer, who has Lithuanian roots, would like to help creating a similar service in Lithuania.
During the meeting with Lithuanian Ambassador to Israel Darius Degutis, at the organization’s headquarters in Jerusalem, on 19th of February, 2013 E. Beer introduced the main principles of the work done by “United Hatzalah”. The organization gathers 2000 volunteer medics who thanks to modern telecommunication devices have access to information about any medical emergency in Israel.
All volunteers are provided with special ambucycles or use their personal vehicles. At their disposal - all necessary and advanced first aid means. Volunteers can provide the best and professional medical assistance in various accidents: heart failure, car accidents, burns, births, etc. Thanks to successfully implemented communication services the response to the emergency calls is extremely rapid. The average volunteer arrival to the emergency call takes 2.5 minutes, while the Israeli ambulance average response is about 15 minutes.
During this year's World Economic Forum in Davos the “United Hatzalah” project's success attracted major interest. All organization’s staff carry out their noble mission voluntary and private donations contribute to the technical and maintenance services.
