ISRAELI MINISTER CALLS FOR GREATER ISRAELI-LITHUANIAN HIGH-TECH COOPERATION
On 3rd July 2013 Ambassador of Lithuania Israel Darius Degutis met with the Minister of Economy of the State of Israel Naftaly Bennett.
Minister Bennett expressed satisfaction of the excellent development of economic cooperation – bilateral trade and tourism doubled during the last 3 years, number of direct flights is increasing – starting from the autumn of 2013 there will be 2 weekly flights from Vilnius to Tel Aviv.
N.Bennett, who was a very successful software entrepreneur before becoming a minister, showed a particular interest in investment opportunities in Lithuania for Israeli information technology companies. Minister noted that cooperation in high-tech industries and of R&D partnerships would contribute most to the development of bilateral economic relations. It was agreed that in the near future a business mission of Lithuanian high-tech companies will take place in Israel.
During the meeting ambassador Degutis also presented Lithuanian priorities for the EU Presidency and invited Israeli minister to visit Lithuania together with Israeli business delegation.
