ISRAELI MINISTER OF TRANSPORTATION WELCOMES DIRECT FLIGHT VILNIUS – TEL AVIV AND ENCOURAGES THE DEVELOPMENT OF ECONOMIC COOPERATION
On 14 October 2013, the Israeli Minister of Transportation, National Infrastructure and Road Safety Israel Katz welcomed Ambassador Darius Degutis and congratulated on the launching of a new direct flight from Vilnius to Tel Aviv starting on 27 October 2013.
The Minister expressed his contentment that a direct flight operating twice a week will considerably contribute not only to the growth of tourism but also to the bilateral economic cooperation. Considering Lithuania‘s attractive geographic location, it‘s high level of economic development and skilled workforce, Minister I. Katz expressed his interest in developing economic relations with Lithuania in different areas. The Minister also expressed his great interest in visiting Lithuania.
Ambassador D. Degutis told the Minister about the successful Lithuanian-Israeli political cooperation, the growth of bilateral trade and tourism which has doubled over the last 3 years. Ambassador also informed about the international high tech conference starting in Tel Aviv today, which is attended by 17 companies from Lithuania.
Minister I. Katz also extended his gratitude to the Lithuanian Government for supporting Israel in international organizations.
