ISRAELI SCIENTISTS ARE LOOKING FOR CONTACTS WITH LITHUANIAN COLLEAGUES
On 9th May 2013 Ambassador of Lithuania Israel Darius Degutis met with the Israel’s Minister of Science, Technology and Space Yaakov Perry.
The minister, who is of Lithuanian descent, expressed his satisfaction of the very positive development of the relationship between Israel and Lithuania. The minister noted that over the past four years more than 25 high-level governmental visits took place, the trade and tourism volumes have doubled.
Y. Perry indicated that Israeli scientists are looking for cooperation opportunities with their colleagues in Lithuania and suggested organizing a joint seminar in which possibilities for cooperation would be discussed.
D. Degutis handed an official invitation to Y. Perry to attend the upcoming fourth World Litvak Congress in Vilnius, taking place on 22-25 September, as well as participating in the commemorative events marking 70 years since the liquidation of the Vilnius Ghetto, organized by Lithuanian Government.
