LITHUANIA AND ISRAEL SIGNED A COOPERATION AGREEMENT IN THE SPHERE OF TOURISM

On 14 June 2010  Minister of Economy of Lithuania Dainius Kreivys and Minister of Tourism of Israel Stas Mesezhnikov signed a cooperation agreement in the sphere of tourism between the Government of Lithuania and the Government of Israel.

The agreement will provide basis for cooperation between tourism associations and businesses engaged in the sphere of tourism, it will also encourage cooperation of tourism education institutions and exchange of experts.

In 2009 five thousand tourists from Israel visited Lithuania, in 2008 – 6 thousand. In the opinion of the Minister of Economy of Lithuania, signing of the agreement should promote the increase of the flow of tourists between the two countries.

In the morning of the same day the Minister of Economy of Lithuania and accompanying him business delegation participated in the opening of “BioMed exhibition”. After the opening ceremony the Minister visited “BioMed” exhibition where he met with the representatives of the leading Israeli technology companies and main research institutions.
