LITHUANIA INVITES TOURISTS FROM ISRAEL
On 14-15 February 2012 Lithuania participates with the national stand in The International Mediterranean Tourism Market IMTM2012, which takes place in Tel Aviv.
Lithuanian cities, countryside tourism, SPAs, other tourism products and services are being presented in the colorful and lively stand which attracts many visitors. During the first day of the exhibition the stand was visited by Stas Misezhnikov, Minister of tourism of the State of Israel.
On 14 February the meeting between director general of Lithuanian State Department of Tourism R.Balniene and the Minister of tourism of Israel S. Misezhnikov took place. Both sides consider that there is a great potential for cooperation between Lithuania and Israel in the field of tourism. It was noted that in 2011 the number of Israeli tourist travelling to Lithuania increased by 62 percent.
Israeli minister said, that the opening of direct flight Vilnius- Tel Aviv in June will boost tourism flows between both countries and that he will be on the board of the inaugural direct flight to Vilnius.
On 14 February Lithuanian Embassy in Israel together with Lithuanian State Department of Tourism organized a seminar for Israeli tour operators and media. After the presentations on Lithuanian tourism opportunities and innovations, bilateral meetings between Israeli and Lithuanian tour operators took place.
