LITHUANIA – ISRAEL COOPERATION IN THE TOURISM SECTOR CONTINUES TO EXPAND
On 12th June 2013 Raimonda Balnienė, Director General of Lithuanian Tourism department met with the Israel’s Minister of Tourism Uzi Landau.
Both sides expressed satisfaction of the very positive development of the relationship between Israel and Lithuania. It was noted that over the past four years more than 25 high-level governmental visits took place, the trade and tourism volumes have doubled. A seasonal scheduled direct flight between Tel Aviv and Vilnius, which was inaugurated last year, has been very successful and the most of the tickets for summer season have already been sold. Parties agreed that new opportunities will open up for tourism development during the Lithuanian presidency of the European Council in 2013.
Israeli minister U.Landau accepted Balnienė’s invitation to visit Lithuania. It was agreed to organize the meeting of bilateral working group on tourism issues during his visit.
