LITHUANIA OPENS ITS FIRST COMMERCIAL REPRESENTATION IN ISRAEL
The Lithuanian Ministry of Economy has appointed the first commercial attaché of Lithuania to the State of Israel.
The main functions of the commercial attaché will focus on the promotion of bilateral trade, attraction of investments, promotion of Lithuania as an attractive tourism destination, as well as an active representation of the Lithuanian economy.
Lithuanian-Israel bilateral economic and trade ties have grown fast during the last years. In 2011 a trade between the countries increased by 60% and the number of Israeli tourist travelling to Lithuania increased by 62%.
The opening of direct flight Vilnius - Tel Aviv on 20th June 2012 will significantly benefit tourists and will contribute to boosting economic exchange and cooperation between Lithuania and Israel.
