LITHUANIAN AMBASSADOR MET WITH THE VICE-MINISTER OF FOREIGN AFFAIRS OF ISRAEL

On 13 April 2011 Lithuanian Ambassador in Israel Darius Degutis met with Danny Ayalon, the Vice-minister of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel on the eve of his visit to Lithuania.

During the visit the Vice-minister will participate at the opening of the Lithuanian-Israeli Chamber of Commerce as well as at the inauguration of the Honorary Consulate of Israel which will be headed by the Honorary Consul of Israel in Lithuania prof. Vladas Bumelis. He will also join the Holocaust survivors “March of the Living” programme. The “March of the Living” is being organized for the third consecutive year by Vilnius and Vilnius vicinity association of Israeli Jews.

During the meeting with the Vice-minister positive bilateral relations agenda was stressed, programme of the Vice-minister’s visit, deepening of cooperation in the spheres of economy, culture and tourism and other relevant to both sides issues were discussed. Danny Ayalon pointed out that the Minister of Tourism of Israel is planning to visit Lithuania. Preparation of Israeli business mission to Lithuania and prospect of opening of the Embassy of Israel in Lithuania were also touched upon during the meeting.
