Lithuanian and Israeli independence anniversaries celebrated in a festive concert

On May 29, one of the most important Israeli theaters Gesher which together with Tel Aviv-Yafo municipality is organizing the annual international performing arts festival „Jaffa Fest“, treated its audience with an evening of the Lithuanian music. During this concert, eight extraordinary musicians from Lithuania performed the creations by composer and recipient of the Lithuanian National Arts and Culture Award Faustas Latėnas.

In this atypical for Jaffa Fest evening of music, Latėnas fans and other curious concertgoers celebrated the anniversaries of the independence of both countries – Lithuania and Israel. Rich creative biography of the composer has drawn for this one time only celebration in Tel Aviv an exquisite group of musicians: cellist maestro David Geringas, duo of violinist Rūta Lipinaitytė and pianist Indrė Baikštytė „Domino duo“, and the string quartet „Art Vio (Ingrida Rupaitė-Petrikienė, Kristijonas Venslovas, Tomas Petrikis ir Povilas Jacunskas). The master of ceremonies musicologist Viktoras Gerulaitis shared his insights as he presented the pieces throughout the evening.

The project supported by the Lithuanian embassy in Israel and Lithuanian Culture Institute.
