LITHUANIAN INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED IN ISRAEL
On 18 February 2014, a festive event on the occasion of Lithuania's Independence Day, was organized by the Lithuanian Embassy in Tel Aviv together with the Lithuanian community in Israel and the members of the Lithuanian-Israeli friendship association “ISRAELITA”. Community members were welcomed by the Ambassador D. Degutis, Member of the Israeli Knesset and Chairman of Israel – Lithuania inter-parliamentary relations group Y. Razvozov, and the Chairman of the Lithuanian-Israeli friendship association “ISRAELITA” J. Katz.
The speakers praised excellent Lithuanian-Israeli bilateral relations and achievements. The second anniversary of Lithuanian-Israeli friendship association “ISRAELITA” has been commemorated.
During the event, a famous Lithuanian singer Birutė Dambrauskaitė, especially loved by the Israeli litvaks, gave a memorable performance.
