LITHUANIAN NATIONAL HOLIDAY IN ISRAEL
On 15 February the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuania in the State of Israel arranged a festive commemoration of the 93- rd anniversary of the restoration of the State of Lithuania. Knesset members, Government representatives, business, culture and academic elite, diplomatic corps, journalists, Litvaks and Lithuanian community representatives have gathered to celebrate Lithuanian National holiday.
Michael Eitan, Minister of Improvement of Government Services of the State of Israel and Zeev Bielski, Chairman of Knesset Israeli-Lithuanian parliamentary relations group, on behalf of the State of Israel have sincerely congratulated everybody on the occasion of the Lithuania’s National holiday. They have highly appreciated friendly and intensive Israeli-Lithuanian relations and rapidly developing economic ties. The guests have cheered the news of a direct Vilnius-Tel Aviv flight scheduled to start this summer.
Lithuanian and Israeli anthems were solemnly performed by a famous Israeli singer Limor Shapira. The student jazz band from the Center for jazz Studies at the Israeli Conservatory for Music, Tel Aviv, played at the reception.
