Lithuanian “Maccabi” team is participating in the 18th World Maccabiah Games taking place on 13-18 July 2009 in Israel. Sportsmen from Lithuania will compete in four branches of sports: futsal, chess, swimming and lawn tennis. Sportsmen from Lithuanian sports club “Maccabi” took part in four world and four European Maccabiahs durings 15 years of existence of the club.
Upon the invitation of the Israeli Olympic Committee Artūras Poviliūnas, President of the Lithuanian Olympic Committee, and Vytautas Zubernius, Secretary General of the Lithuanian Olympic Committee, came to the world Maccabiah games.
