MEETING WITH MAYOR OF TIBERIAS

On 7 January 2009 Ambassador Darius Degutis had a meeting with the Mayor of Tiberias Zohar Oved. Ambassador discussed with the Mayor possibilities for cooperation between Tiberias and Lithuanian cities and was acquainted to achievements in agriculture, which is one of the most important economic activities in the region.

Tiberias is a city on the western shore of the Sea of Galilee, it was established around 20 CE. Due to Holy sites and hot springs in the area, Tiberias is a popular tourism destination.
