MEETING WITH THE CHAIRMAN OF THE JEWISH AGENCY FOR ISRAEL N.SHARANSKY

On 5 November 2009 Ambassador Darius Degutis had a meeting with the chairman of the Jewish Agency for Israel Natan Sharansky. During the meeting chairman stressed that he appreciates the activities of Lithuanian Jews’ Communities in Israel and Lithuania. In his opinion Israel and Lithuania have a big potential for cooperation, but it is essential to engage the young people. N. Sharansky shared his personal memories about Lithuania, which he visited several times while engaged in dissident activities against Soviet Union.
