"Memories in the living room" project is successfully going on
An unforgettable "Memories in the living room" (“Zikaron Basalon”) afternoon at the residence of the Ambassador of Lithuania to Israel Lina Antanavičienė on 16 November - a warm meeting the Holocaust survivor, a sculptor, an author of the book „From Childhood Paradise to Hell and Back“, Mr. Saadia Bahat.
The Alytus born interlocutor, told us a story about his idyllic Lithuanian childhood in "paradise" and the hell which followed straight after that: his personal experiences in Vilnius ghetto, death camps in Estonia, the Stutthof concentration camp, etc. The Ambassador, for her part, once again reminded the gathered guests, foreign diplomats, journalists, members of the Litvak community that we are blessed being able to have such person and hearing his testimony: “Such stories must be passed on to future generations – this is the way to preserve the memories of this tragedy of 20th century, such cruelties must never happen again."
The Embassy of Lithuania in Israel takes part in "Zikaron BaSalon" project already for the third time.
