Minister L. Linkevičius congratulated writer Grigory Kanovich on his jubilee

During the phone conversation Minister of Foreign Affairs of Lithuania Linas Linkevičius congratulted Grigory Kanovich on his 90th birthday. Ambassador Edminas Bagdonas thanked the writer for his outstanding contribution to Lithuania’s and world’s culture, wished him much health and strength.

Grigory Kanovich - Lithuanian and Jewish writer, screenwriter, playwright, poet and translator. He has received numerous awards for contribution to literature and culture – Commander's Grand Crosses of the Order of the Lithuanian Grand Duke Gediminas, Lithuanian national Prize for Culture and Arts.

G. Kanovich served as chairman of the Jewish Community of Lithuania from 1989 to 1993.
