Parliament of Lithuania strengthens relations with Knesset
During March 27-30 Members of the Lithuanian Parliament - First Deputy Speaker Mr Vydas Gedvilas, Deputy Speaker and Chairman of European Affairs Committee Mr Gediminas Kirkilas, leader of opposition Mr Audrius Kubilius, Head of Group for Inter-Parliamentary Relations with the Knesset of Israel Mr Emanuelis Zingeris and member of Committee on European Affairs Mrs Vilija Aleknaitė-Abramikienė- payed visit to the State of Israel.
The Lithuanian parliamentarians had meetings with Speaker of Knesset MK Yuli-Yoel Edelstein, Head of the Israel-Lithuania Parliamentary Friendship Group, MK Ksenia Svetlova, Chairman of Foreign Affairs and Defence Committee, MK Tzachi Hanegbi, Chairman of Education, Culture, and Sports Committee MK Yakov Margi as well as Minister of Immigrant Absorption and Minister of Jerusalem Affairs Mr Ze'ev Elkin. The Lithuanian delegation had also meetings with the representatives of National Security Council, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the State of Israel, Litvak and Lithuanian communities in Israel, American Jewish Committee, Institute for National Security Studies. The Delegation visited Yad Vashem museum where they payed tribute the memory of Holocaust victims. Parliamentarians also visited "Kerem Shalom" border crossing and "Mobileye" technology company.
