On 14 April 2010 the performance-concert devoted to commemoration of composer Ernest Bloch took place at the Music and Dance Academy of the Hebrew University in Jerusalem. Two distinguished performers born in Lithuania Dr. Zecharia Plavin (piano) and prof. Raimondas Butvila (violin) played Ernest Bloch’s music, famous Israeli TV journalist and actor Emmanuel Halperin performed the role of composer Ernest Bloch.
Zecharia Plavin-lecturer at the Jerusalem Academy of Music and Dance, performer and musicologist. Raimondas Butvila – professor at Colegio Emil Friedman Conservatory at Caracas university in Venezuela. Both musicians are participants and prizewinners of numerous international contests.
Dr. Zecharia Plavin and prof. Raimondas Butvila are initiators and performers of a number of annual musical projects both in Lithuania and Israel. This performance-concert was organized in cooperation with the Embassy of Lithuania in Israel.
