Continuing his official visit to Israel, Prime Minister Andrius Kubilius, attended a round table discussion with the executives of largest Israeli IT companies.

The meeting took place in the premises of the company RAD Data Communications,  a telecommunications and database management solutions leader in Israel, uniting 15 companies. The discussion was moderated by Zohar Zisapel, Chairman of the Board of RAD Data Communications.

Prime Minister Kubilius and Minister of Economy Dainius Kreivys invited leading Israeli high-tech companies to invest in Lithuania, and presented business conditions and opportunities to potential investors, noting that Lithuania is now doing what Israel had done a decade ago, so their experience is very important and useful for Lithuania. The Prime Minister said that Lithuania is interested in Israel's experience in setting up business incubators for IT start-ups.

Micha Harish, President and CEO of Harish Enterprises Ltd., Chairman of the Board of Telecorp Communications, former Israeli Minister of Industry, Trade and Labour, recalled Government’s decision to make a breakthrough in the IT sector back in 1992, and the challenges it entailed. Micha Harish wished the Lithuanian government every success in further hunting for IT investment.

Most of the participants at the meeting voiced out their business development interest in Central Europe, including Lithuania, which might be of interest in terms of IT outsourcing, establishing centres of RAD Data Communication, etc.

The meeting concluded by signing a letter of intent on cooperation and establishment of a business incubator for IT start-ups in Lithuania between Ori Katz Oz, Chairman of the Board of Granot Ventures and Mark Zbarski, representative of the Lithuanian business and CEO of ERP.
