On 6 June 2010 Reunion Conference of HKP survivors organized by the Association of Jews from Vilna and Vicinity in Israel started its work The HKP survivors from Germany, France, USA, Canada and Israel have gathered to the conference which will last till 11 June 2010.
The participants of the conference will share their memories and experience from Vilna Ghetto and workshops for repair of combat vehicles HKP. A German officer Karl Plagge who was in charge of workshops for repair of combat vehicles HKP succeeded in saving more than 1000 Jews from being murdered. Karl Plagge was recognized by Yad Vashem as one of the righteous among the nations. His nearest living relatives participate at the conference.
The Ambassador of Lithuania in Israel Darius Degutis gave a welcome speech to the participants of the conference.
The opening of the conference ceremony also included musical performances of the choir of Vilnius Ghetto survivors.
