SUCCESS IN ISRAEL OF THE OPERA BY THE LITHUANIAN PRODUCER
This opera was produced in the Lithuanian National Opera and Ballet Theater in 2005 and is still performed. The vibrant new production has been directed by the innovative British-based Lithuanian director Dalia Ibelhauptaitė. La forza del destino has brought together British set designer Giles cadle, Lithuanian fashion designer Juozas Statkevičius, South-African born choreographer Arthur Pita.
Currently D. Ibelhauptaitė directed this opera in Israel. Associate producer – Linas Mikuta (Lithuania). Conductor – Asher Fisch (Israel). The leading roles have been created by the leading Verdi singers in the opera circuit these days.
Israeli audience took obvious delight in the opera and after the premiere greeted the soloists, the chorus, the dancers with fervour. The production team - Lithuanian director, assistant director, conductor, set designer and choreographer received thunderous applause.
La forza del destino is performed at the Israeli Opera House until 19 Januaary 2008.
Lithuanian Embassy in Israel initiated the collaboration of Lithuanian and Israeli opera theatres.
