THE INITIAL MEETING OF THE ISRAELI-LITHUANIAN CHAMBERS OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY TOOK PLACE IN TEL AVIV
On 19 December 2007 the initial meeting of the Israeli-Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry took place in Tel Aviv under auspices of the Embassy of Lithuania in Israel in close collaboration with the Israeli Export and International Cooperation Institute, Manufactures’ Association and Federation of Bi-National Chambers of Commerce and Industry.
About 20 Israeli companies with business links in Lithuania gathered together in order to launch the process of the establishment of the Israeli-Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. The event was inaugurated by Ambassador of the Republic of Lithuania to the State of Israel Asta Skaisgiryte Liauskiene, Chairman of the Israeli Export and International Cooperation Institute David Arzi and Chairman of the Israel Federation of Bi-National Chambers of Commerce and Industry Amnon Dotan. The participants of the meeting were greeted by Ambassador of the State of Israel to Lithuania and Latvia Chen Ivry. Visiting key-note speaker from Lithuania Alge Budryte, Deputy Chief Economist of the SEB Vilniaus Bank, has delivered a presentation on the current status of the Lithuanian economy.
The representatives of the Israeli companies have confirmed by signature their intention to proceed with the establishment of the Israeli-Lithuanian Chambers of Commerce and Industry. Prior to the meeting this process has been approved by the respective Israeli Governmental institutions – Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Trade and Industry and Ministry of Finances.
