"The Jump" will be screened in Israel!

We cordially invite you to the screening of the documentary film “The Jump” (2020) by the Lithuanian film director Giedrė Žickytė on July 10th, 2022, Sunday at 18.00 at Netanya City Culture Center, Raziel 4, Netanya The film will be screened in English with Hebrew subtitles. Free admission.

Back in 1970 Lithuanian sailor and would-be defector Simas Kudirka jumped off his Soviet vessel aboard a US coast guard cutter, asking for asylum. His leap for freedom set off a chaotic series of events, leading to one of the biggest political muddles during the Cold War.
