TO THE ATTENTION OF THE STUDENTS APPLYING FOR TEMPORARY RESIDENCE PERMIT

Decisions on whether to issue a temporary residence permit will be taken by officers of the Migration Department of the Republic of Lithuania. The time allowed for examining of application and decision taking will vary from 1 to 3 months.
Once the Migration Department's officers have taken a decision to issue a temporary residence permit, the produced document will be sent abroad. Thus, the foreigner will arrive in Lithuania with a valid residence permit and will no longer need to obtain an additional visa.
If the foreigner has a visa entitling him/her to come to our country, or if he/she uses a visa-free regime, he/she will be able to collect the temporary residence permit card already issued in Lithuania.
All foreign nationals will be able to apply to the VFS Global offices, regardless of whether they are resident in the country where such services are provided.
In addition, please be informed that National D visas will be issued at the Embassy of the Republic of Lithuanian till 30 June 2023. Starting from 1 July 2023 National D visa issuance process will be managed by VFS Global's office only.
