Vilnius municipal choir "Jauna Muzika“ performed in Tel Aviv
Yesterday, Vilnius municipal choir "Jauna Muzika", led by conductor and composer Vaclovas Augustinas, performed in one of the main concert halls in Israel - Heichal Hatarbut, in its beautiful Zucker hall.
In the building, where the Israeli Symphonic Orchestra resides, one of the most actively touring Lithuanian choirs performed programme, which included quite a few modern pieces including - to the pleasant surprise of many attendees - a beautiful arrangement of Lithuanian folk tradition of "sutartinės" songs. This special evening became yet another exceptional celebration in the series of cultural events marking the centennial of the restored independence of Lithuania in Israel. Those who could not attend the concert in Tel Aviv, still have an opportunity to see "Jauna Muzika" on May 20 at Abu Gosh Vocal Music Festival.
Project supported by the Lithuanian Culture Council.
