Visit of Lithuanian Minister of Agriculture V. Baltraitienė to Israel

Minister of Agriculture of Lithuania Virginija Baltraitienė visited Israel on the invitation of the Israeli Minister of Agriculture. The Minister attended international exhibition Agritech 2015, took part in Ministers discussion on postharvest food losses, visited Kfar Vitkin dairy farm and laboratory in Caesarea. The latest developments in Israeli agricultural research were presented to Lithuanian delegation in Agricultural Research Organization (Volcani institute).

During the meeting with Izraeli Minister of Agriculture Yair Shamir a broad range of issues on bilateral cooperation, such as export of Lithuanian beef, challenges of kosher certification, establishment of joint working group, etc., were discussed. Minister V. Baltraitienė invited Israeli Minister to visit the World Diary Summit to be held in September in Lithuania and also Agrobalt 2016 exhibition.

Director of State Food and Veterinary Service J. Milius as well as representatives of three food companies (Biovela Group, Žemaitijos pienas and Vilkyškių pieninė) visited Israel together with the official Lithuanian delegation.
